Saturday, August 5, 2000 history was made in Appleton, Wisconsin. The first ever all Volkswagen show was a great success. We had 103 VWs show up for the show before the noon registration deadline. There were 58 air cooled and 45 water cooled VWs on display. We had 5 vendors who had no problem selling some of their parts.
The Northern Wisconsin Volkswagen Club (chapter of Vintage Volkswagen Club of America) and N.E.W. Volksport helped to organize the show and had members helping out. Some of the DBG (Der Busbesitzer Gruppe) Bus Club showed up to support the show as well. Other clubs from around the state and some from MI also were in attendance.
We had a wonderful sunny morning, with some clouds in the afternoon. The awards ceremony was bumped up to 2:30 pm as rain looked to be inevitable. It started sprinkling around 2:45 pm so we were finished before heavy rain. Everyone had a great time and we hope to do it again next year.
