NWVC CAMPOUT AND PICNIC
Green Lake and Howard's VW Farm, Oshkosh
June 25 & 26, 2004

Special thanks to the Rorrer family for all their work in preparing for the picnic. Especially Sarah who took the time to prepare a feast for us. Great friends, great conversation, great cars. A lot of people hanging around the dock -- but none brave enough to venture in the pond (except for Dog's annual bath no one got wet except for Francis's two pair of shoes). Sarah was the rookie driver of the day. It looks like she had some impressive teachers, she did a great job on the cruise to Green Lake. It was great talking to you all.

Special thank you to Howard's clan for making the picnic a sucesss!! I must admit that being part of a club is what you make of it. It is quite a grand experience. Dog, Francis and myself all slept on the drive home!!

I had a wonderful time at the picnic, cruise and campout at the Rorrers. Thanks again for all of the effort the Rorrers go through to make the event a nice relaxing time with no worries. One of our new club members from Oshkosh, Bryan Garner and his son came to visit with us for part of the day on Saturday. The food (thanks Sarah), company, and everything was great! Brownies were great, too (thanks Jenny).

Jenny, thank you for planning our cruise. An excellent choice of back roads to Green Lake with lots of fun for everyone. At one point, I thought perhaps I was in an Auto Cross course ;-) Seriously, it was great and the ice cream was even better. We met a New Beetle Convertible owner while in Green Lake. Sounds like she will be joining the club.
